TSIRIBIHINA

Take the Tsiribihina River on an adventure along one of Madagascar’s famous bodies of water to the west. The river has impressive geological features – including a highly dissected limestone massif and the waterfall of Anosinampela with its inviting pool for swimming at the base – as well as a natural forest filled with lemurs, wild ducks, kingfishers, parrots, chameleons, crocodiles and butterflies.

With a length of 50 km; the river does camping tours done either in 2 days / 2 nights using a dugout, or 3 days and 2 nights if traveling by ferry.

Taking its source 30 km from Miandrivazo, the river crosses several villages before flowing into the Mozambique Channel. A visit to the river is another way to discover the Sakalava Menabe people – to better understand their way of life through agriculture, culture and habitat.

A float along the Tsiribihina is a perfect camping trip for a single person or group. It is an adventure so little known in the world. a simple reminder of the undiscovered joys awaiting you in Madagascar.
